“Building towards a sustainable future”

Mission

EcoSA believes in an ecofriendly environment and the mission is to contribute to our society by developing innovative building products, which are of high value and high performance, and which can replace traditional products.

Vision

Our vision is to contribute to a sustainable construction and building industry in South America and Caribbean, and to build strong partnerships with communities.

Suriname, a safe heaven for wildlife

Suriname is the greenest country in the world with 93% afforestation and a low deforestation rate, also known as a High Forest, Low Deforestation (HFLD) country. Suriname thus belongs to a very small group of countries, which are characterized by this high forest coverage and low deforestation rate.

Suriname has a small population density of 2.9 inhabitants per km2, or 571,000 inhabitants on the territory of 164,000 km2. The forests are a central component in the economic, social and cultural life of the population.

EcoSA project; contributing to greening and circular economy

Cost- effective

EcoSA will be established as a cost-effective plant with advanced equipment to enable the production of high quality particleboard panels in commercial quantities.

Sustainable & eco-friendly

The EcoSA plant will be utilizing materials normally regarded as waste, and in collaboration with the principal partner EcoBoard International (EBI), will further expand an established technology, in particular using ecologically sound bonding system, thereby totally eliminating Urea Formaldehyde™ harmful emissions.

Premium quality

EcoSA intends to manufacture high quality formaldehyde-free particle board using environmentally friendly agri waste feedstock as raw materials, manufactured with state of the art technology designed and supplied by its partner Ecopanel Systems Ltd (EPS).

Legal Formation

EcoSA is part of Eco-House NV which is founded by Gerard Been to give back to the country of Suriname and help to give Suriname services and products that can make South America and and the Caribbean proud.

Eco-House NV, vide an understanding has been licensed by Ecoboard International, to produce EcoBoard trademark products for the “EcoSA territory”, which is South-America and the Caribbean, through the EcoSA factory.

Ecoboards International will also be equity partner apart from being a licensor in Eco-House NV

ECO-Boards™

Bio-based panels are made from agricultural residues such as straw or reeds and bonded together mainly with the natural lignin without any formaldehyde. ECO-Boards™ is a healthy and ecological alternative to chipboard, MDF, OSB or Plywood, EN 312-P6 and CE 2+ and more .

ECOBoard Standard

ECOBoards Standard panels made of natural fibres represent a sustainable and green solution, which can be applied in the construction of buildings and house renovation as well as the manufacturing of furniture.

Key features:

  • High structural strength, loadbearing & stability
  •
  • Excellent strength and weight performance
  •
  • Superior workability
  •
  • Excellent nail-holding capacity
  •
  • High earthquake resistance and durability
  •
  • Better water resistance than wood-based
  •
  • Superior fire resistance
  •
  • Termite prevention
  •
  • No formaldehyde or chemical emissions
  •

ECOBoard Softboard

ECOBoard Softboard was pressed under lower pressure in order to keep the voids of the straws which can form lots of gas-filled pockets. Therefore, it has good heat insulation.

Substances with high thermal diffusivity rapidly adjust their temperature to that of their surroundings, because they conduct heat quickly in comparison to their thermal ‘bulk’. In other words, the little the thermal diffusivity of materials is, the slower speed heat transferring in the wall is. It is also important when evaluating the properties of heat insulation of building materials. ECOBoard has a relatively small thermal diffusivity

Key features:

  • Insulating board with structural strength,
  •
  • Loadbearing & stability
  •
  • Excellent strength to weight performance
  •
  • Better water resistance than wood-based
  •
  • Superior fire resistance
  •
  • Termite prevention
  •
  • No formaldehyde or chemical emissions
  •
  • Negative Carbon Footprint
  •

ECOBoard Deco

ECOBoard DECO is a decorative alternative to concrete or bricks – even in the construction of multi-story buildings. It can be used for outer and inner walls (e.g. interior decoration).

Houses built with natural fibres represent a sustainable and green solution, which can be applied in the construction of buildings and house renovation as well as the manufacturing of furniture.

Key features:

  • Excellent nail-holding capacity on all sides
  •
  • High earthquake resistance and durability
  •
  • Better water resistance than traditional wood-based board
  •
  • High structural strength, loadbearing & stability
  •
  • Excellent strength and weight performance

  • High earthquake resistance and durability
  •
  • Vermin prevention
  •
  • No formaldehyde or chemical emissions

Production Process

The machinery used in the manufacturing units is well proven and reliable, having been operated for decades in the conventional board making industry and integrated to suit this particular application.

EcoSA will use a state-of-the-art manufacturing line, ideal for small-medium size production of what is still considered a niche product within the total conventional particle-board market.

All machinery, software and components in the line are manufactured in Europe by the best specialists in the panel processing industry.

Why Invest?

As an investor, via this project, you will get to play not only a commercial role by the way of contributing to the National GDP( Gross Domestic Product) of the country, but also be a social-economic contributor by creating jobs and paving the way as an example for other foreign direct investors for local projects.

Such investments will enable an increasing support to the foreign exchange revenue of Suriname and the region.

Investment in Suriname also provides investors a base to enter South America and be a player in the continent and the region.
